PPOC Visitation.


The class kick started directly at the Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-Orang Cacat (PPOC), which was located at Petaling Jaya. The place itself was only 10-15 minutes away from Taylor's Lakeside Campus (Via NPE). It was a good idea to have our first class and meeting at PPOC, so that we the students can embrace better on spirit of the center. Also, to observe and to have a piece of mind that PPOC Center is the place that we will be contributing our services. Besides that, we were briefed by our lecturer which was Ms. Norji, regarding the brief of the module and how the classes would be conducted.

After the brief, we were informed that there were going to be 5 tasks that needs to be delegate for the class. So to make things easier, the class was divided into 5 groups, each group will be responsible for their particular tasks. Below are the respected tasks for the module;


  •  Wall Painting
  •  Furniture
  •  Mobile Learning Aids
  •  Fun Fixed Wall
  •  Photo & Video

My group and I will be in charge of the Mobile Learning Aids. My group is known as "Group 3", which consists of 7 members including me. They are Jason, Alvin, Ray, Fiona, Priscillia and Wen Weii. I have known them for quite awhile, and this is probably the first time ever we are in the same group, and I think we will work and get along just fine.

Moreover, right after we finished with the briefing, everyone was divided to their respective groups to discuss more further on how to execute the outcomes. We had some extra time to observe more of the center and had the chance to even talk to some of the students of PPOC. We asked them several question regarding with our task in terms of what do they think of PPOC, what are the things that can be upgraded and what are their interests. We think its important to collect this infos from them because eventually they are the users of what we are going to create. Also, we visited one of their classroom where the activities would be done.


Lastly, Ms. Norji told us that the upcoming week there is not going to be any class but rather we as a group have to meet up and come up with proposals regarding on the Mobile Learning Aids. So, that the following week we need to present our proposals to the lecturers.

The presentation of our proposals / ideas to our lecturers went as planned. As a group leader, I did the honors to present it to the whole class and to the lecturers as well. Below is the video of our presentation; Good news is r ight after the presentation  our proposal was accepted by the lecturers and the whole class. Although there are a few comments from our lecturer Ms. Norji, that we have to focus on certain areas in terms of customization which I think that is the most challenging part for us and what is worried to Ms. Norji herself. But all in all, the presentation went smoothly. We are happy that our proposals were accepted. So now we only need to proceed and focus on to the execution part.

Execution : Getting the Job Done.

22nd September. On this day, we held a group meeting to proceed with our execution. We discuss on how to execute every inch of the proposal and ideas to customize each proposals. Besides that, as a group leader I need to make sure that the work load was divided equally to each members so that we as a group can execute the work efficiently. Moreover, as each and everyone of us are doing the work. We suddenly came across some errors and difficulties which we realize that some of the puzzles for proposal 2 were not enough. So we decided to count properly on how many letters we need according to the animal names we agreed on. 23rd September. As soon as the the digital files were done by our group members. I was in charge to proceed to the printing shop to print the images in sticker material. Also, together with laminating the cards for the scrabble proposal. 25th September.
